iCheck-Out

How is a ‘self’ checkout closed?
Is it on a break?

The 'self' here is the customer, of which there were plenty.
It's not enough I don't get a discount for performing the duties of the store that collects my money & guilts me into purchasing eco-friendly recyclable bags.  I have a good idea where to stick my carbon footprint. [I kid.]
Welcome to the future… where life will be made easier with automation but equally downtrodden with inefficiencies.

(Ass or the Crotch) ~Tyler Durden

This… a direct result of a lazy night manager that can’t be bothered to count out an additional drawer.

Mariah Carey’s – ‘H.A.T.E.U.' off of Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel
* produced by The-Dream

"Once upon a time,  We swore not to say goodbye
Something got a hold of us,  And we changed
Then you sat alone in pride,  And I sat at home and cried
How'd our fairytale just end up this way?"

Artist Spotlight | Hudson Mohawke

“Hudson Mohawke is the man of the hour, and dirty beats are his trade.
Hudson Mohawke, aka ‘Hud Mo’, started out as a young bedroom producer in Glasgow, Scotland — a town known for every music bar rap.
He had no idea that his indulgence in hip-hop, hardcore, techno, prog, fusion, and electro would capture so much attention.
In 2007, he was announced by Steve Beckett as the latest signing to Warp records. Since then, he’s been playing some excellent parties, and working on an LP due for 2009.”  -LastFM

Visitor Passes

Visitor Passes

Visitor passes are not really for the visitors.  I mean after all they know they are visiting. It is really for the security and peace of mind of the people in the general area of where they are visiting.  Take for example what just happened moments ago here at my job.  I contacted Dell to address two servers that have hard drives that failed.  The short version is that they dispatched two separate technicians with respective parts that arrived within 10 minutes apart from each other.  Both techs arrived at the main entrance in the building where there is a security/concierge desk.  Once there, they called down to me where I went up to receive them.  In both instances the same security personnel was at the main desk who decides if you must sign in/ receive a visitor pass.

This is just a casual observation and as with such you may draw your own conclusions.  I should note that the security personnel shares the same ethnicity as technician #2.

Mayer Hawthorne - Maybe So, Maybe No

Mayer Hawthorne grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, just outside of Detroit, and vividly remembers, as a child, driving with his father and tuning the car radio in to the rich soul and jazz history the region provided. “Most of the best music ever made came out of Detroit,” claims the singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, who counts Isaac Hayes, Leroy Hutson, Mike Terry, and Barry White among his influences, but draws the most inspiration from the music of Smokey Robinson, Curtis Mayfield and the legendary songwriting and production trio of Lamont Dozier, Brian Holland and Eddie Holland Jr. (from LastFM)
