Phoenix Rising

The Mythical Phoenix is found in many cultures and regions; from Central American, Egyptian, Asian, Greek and of course Phoenicia to name a few.
Symbolizing rebirth, the myth tells of a beautiful bird that lives up to 1,000 years. When a Phoenix reaches the end of it's life, it is said to build a nest of frankincense and myrrh that is set ablaze, then the Phoenix willfully enters and cremates itself. From these ashes of the old, a new Phoenix is born and rises. Legends say the cry of the Phoenix is a beautiful song and the tears can heal mortal wounds. It is also a symbol of peace, especially after a period of calamity.
To me, the 'myth' is nothing short of a parable.
But the question remains, 'why does the Phoenix continue to rise and not rest?'
