Rare Hummingbird Tales
Today when I was walking into work I noticed something on the ground. Initially I thought it was a Cicada because of its size and color. Upon closer inspection it turned out to be a hummingbird. I was not aware how small they are. It was lying in front of the office building where I work; I presume it may have flown into the reflective glass. FAIL?

Anyway, thinking this may be an omen of sorts, I the googled 'dead humming bird' and learned the following:
Since pre-Conquest times the hummingbird has been considered by many Middle American [Central America] peoples to have supernatural powers. Today it is esteemed by many as a love charm. A dead hummingbird may be worn around the neck in a little bag, to give the wearer the power to attract members of the opposite sex, or it may be dried and a little powder dropped into the drink of the person whose love is desired.”

What's this? People, please do not resort to wearing dead birds around your neck. The only thing you will attract is a bunch of flies, a few 'yuks', and protest from bird lovers.
